Overview

  • Duration:2 hours 0 minutes
  • Tour Type:Daily tour
  • Language:English, French
Napuru Waterfall is tucked into a lush valley on the southern slopes of Mount Meru, just outside Arusha, where the rainforest is thick, the river runs clear, and the crowds never arrive.

The waterfall drops approximately 78 metres into a natural pool surrounded by moss-covered rocks and towering trees. The hike to reach it follows the river bed, crossing streams and navigating rocky terrain through the Mount Meru Forest Reserve. It is a moderately challenging trek — about 1.5 to 2 hours each way — but the reward is a cascade that feels almost private.

Locals also call it Meru Waterfall or Temi Waterfall. The water is cool and refreshing, even in hot weather. You can swim in the pool below, or climb up to stand beneath the falling water for the perfect photograph.

AfriMemories Expedition arranges private hikes to Napuru, combined with cultural visits to Ilkidinga Village and the WaArusha people. One guide, one vehicle, your pace.
