Overview

  • Duration:2 hours 0 minutes
  • Tour Type:Daily tour
  • Language:English, French
Ndoro Waterfall is one of Kilimanjaro's best-kept secrets. While thousands of trekkers pass through Marangu on their way to the summit, almost none of them know that a hidden waterfall waits in the forest just below the village.

The walk begins in Marangu, the gateway to Kilimanjaro's most famous climbing route. From there, a forest trail leads through banana groves, coffee farms, and dense rainforest. The path climbs steadily, crossing streams and passing ancient trees draped in moss. After roughly an hour, the forest opens and Ndoro Waterfall appears — a powerful cascade dropping into a shaded pool surrounded by volcanic rock.

This is a private nature walk. No crowds. No rush. Just you, your guide, and the mountain's quieter side. The walk can be combined with a visit to the Chagga Live Museum or a coffee tour in Marangu.

AfriMemories Expedition arranges private Ndoro Waterfall walks with local Chagga guides who know every plant, every bird, and every story of the forest.
