The Aerial Luxury Safari brings together Tanzania's three great airborne experiences on one private expedition a dawn balloon flight over the Serengeti, private helicopter transfers across the Rift Valley and Crater Highlands, and jet charters between ecosystems.

Float silently above the Great Migration at first light. Cut a four-hour drive to thirty-five minutes in the air. Move from Serengeti to Ngorongoro, Ruaha to Zanzibar, without a single wasted travel day. Every leg is arranged privately, at your schedule, to airstrips and landing sites that scheduled flights cannot reach.

This is not a luxury add-on. It is the infrastructure that makes the safari work  and the experience that most travellers never realise exists.

Frequently asked questions

Q1: What does the Aerial Luxury Safari include?

The Aerial Luxury Safari combines three airborne experiences: a dawn balloon flight over the Serengeti, private helicopter transfers across the Rift Valley and Crater Highlands, and private jet charters between Tanzania's ecosystems. Each element is arranged privately and can be booked together or separately.

Q2: How much does the Aerial Luxury Safari cost?

Balloon safaris cost $500–$600 per person. Private helicopter flights range from $2,800 to $8,000 depending on route. Private jet charters start from $3,500 per flight hour for light jets and go up to $14,000 per hour for heavy jets. Charter pricing is per aircraft, not per seat.

Q3: Can I book just the balloon, or just the helicopter and jet?

Yes. Each element can be booked on its own. The balloon safari is a standalone dawn experience, while helicopter and jet services are charter-based and can be added to any AfriMemories itinerary.

Q4: What is the minimum age for a balloon safari?

Children aged 7 and above may fly. Under 7 is not permitted for safety reasons. Free ground-based childcare with breakfast is available for families with younger children.

Q5: Can a private jet land in the Serengeti?

Yes. Private charters land at Seronera, Grumeti and Kogatende airstrips, among others. Flights from Kilimanjaro or Nairobi take under an hour.

Q6: How many passengers fit in the helicopter?

Four passengers per helicopter on standard scenic and transfer flights. Larger groups can be split across multiple aircraft.

Q7: Is the balloon safari available year-round?

Yes. Flights operate year-round from Central Serengeti, with seasonal launch sites in Northern, Western and Ndutu areas following the migration.

Q8: What is the minimum age for a helicopter flight?

Children are welcome but must be assessed case-by-case. Infants are generally not permitted. Contact us with your group details.

Q9: How much time does the helicopter save?

The classic Serengeti to Ngorongoro route takes four hours by road. By helicopter, it is thirty-five minutes. That recovered time becomes a champagne picnic on the crater rim, an extra game drive, or a longer afternoon at camp.

Q10: How do I book the Aerial Luxury Safari?

Contact AfriMemories Expedition Ltd via WhatsApp or call +255 782 858 735 with your travel dates, group size and interests. We will design a private itinerary around you.

Entire journey on the river cruise was amazing. This is the first such cruise dinner for my family. We loved everything, right from table organising, food, music and the hospitality. Kudos to the entire team !
