Overview

  • Duration:2 hours 0 minutes
  • Tour Type:Daily tour
  • Language:English, French
At over 20,000 square kilometres, it is Tanzania's largest national park and one of the least visited. It receives a fraction of the Serengeti's visitors. On a good day, you will see no other vehicle at all.

Ruaha sits in south-central Tanzania, far from the northern circuit. Its landscape is a collision of East and Southern Africa — baobab-studded savanna, rocky kopjes, broad miombo woodland, and the Great Ruaha River, which draws wildlife in staggering numbers during the dry season.

This is predator country. Ruaha holds one of Africa's largest lion populations, with prides that often exceed twenty individuals. It is one of the last strongholds of the African wild dog. Cheetah, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and over 570 bird species complete the picture.

AfriMemories Expedition operates Ruaha privately — fly-in access, exclusive camps, walking safaris, night drives and fly camping. The park rewards travellers who value wilderness over convenience.

This is the safari you take after the safari everyone else takes.
